Homemade Fresh Mint Liqueur (Meilach) Recipe

Miscellaneous Untried Recipes

This is from a collection of recipes from books I own, but which I haven't myself tried yet. However, you can have faith that at least the authors themselves have tried them, so they're not deadly or anything.

From Homemade Liqueurs by Dona and Mel Meilach:

With leaves (fresh or dried): steep leaves in vodka for 10 days, shaking the jar occasionally. Strain and filter. Be sure to press all the liquid you can out of the leaves. Mature 2 weeks.

With extract: combine all ingredients and shake. Mature at least 24 hours. A week or two will enhance the flavor.

If the result is too weak, add more leaves (or flavoring) and repeat the steeping, straining and maturing phases. If oil globules form on the surface, dab them away with a paper towel or blotting paper.
