Homemade Licor de Laranja (Birnfeld) Recipe

From correspondent Birnfeld:

Boas Festas e Feliz Ano Novo

Caro Amigo licoreiro,
Como achei muito boa suas receitas, lhe envio uma que acho de bom gosto.

(Dear friend liqueur maker,
As I found your recipes very good, I'm sending you one recipe of Orange Liqueur that tastes good.)

Pass the orange well rinsed in pieces trhough he lidiquidifier or a food processor with the spirits, mix sugar vanilla and milk and let stand for about a month. Filter through cotton, ( it’s not very easy to filter!!).

Bottle and cap. Let ripen a bit and taste. If too sweet, use less sugar.

Como este licor tem aproximadamente 45.6 Proof, não é nescessário ser mantido em refrigerador. Verdadeiramente ele se conserva bem por muitos anos, até melhorando com o tempo.

(As this liquor is about 45.6 proof, no need to be kept in refrigerator. Realy, it keeps very well for many years, even becoming better with aging.),

Editor's note: it's a lot easier to add sugar than to subtract it...
